Geothermal wells

Geothermal wells with water capture (open circuit).

Catchment wells make direct use of groundwater as a heat exchange medium. In this so-called open-circuit system, water is drawn from a shallow well (approximately 25-50 m), passes through a heat exchanger and is then fed back into the ground via a second well or another infiltration system.

This method is particularly efficient in areas with abundant groundwater availability and can be used for both new construction and the renovation of existing facilities. Groundwater, due to its constant temperature, allows for high energy performance in both winter and summer.

However, a good system generally requires a test well and a hydrogeological study of the terrain, and the system may be less expensive than geothermal probes, but requires more maintenance.
