TRT (Thermal Response Test)

Soil thermal response analysis.

The Thermal Response Test (TRT), also known as the Ground Response Test (GRT), is a fundamental procedure for geothermal planners. This test is used to determine the thermophysical properties of the subsurface, which are essential for the correct sizing of the vertical geothermal probe array. The TRT is carried out on a pilot probe in accordance with Swiss standard SIA 384/6 of 2021.

During the test, the undisturbed temperature of the ground is measured and the behaviour of the probe-soil system following a known thermal stress is recorded for a minimum period of 50 hours. The results obtained allow real values to be entered into thermodynamic simulations, guaranteeing correct and certified dimensioning of the geothermal field.

In addition to specific staff training, Geoservizi uses state-of-the-art tools and software to offer state-of-the-art and affordable TRT.
